I was reading the boat description and see they supply alum 80s. I usually dive with steel tanks. Is there any way to get steel tanks for the trip. I would hate to ship mine down there. Maybe somebody local could help me out? Also what kind of meals are served. This will be my first trip so I will probably have more questions later.
Formerly spyoung but renamed on the FL Keys 5-09 trip!

Hey spyoung,

The question was asked about steel 100's on the Dry Tortugas trip thread. Both trips are on the Spree and here is the information Frank provided:

I don't discourage steel 100's,I just don't rent them because maintenance is such a bear. Try rental from Conch Repulic Divers in Tavenier key, or try Dive Key West.

Hope this helps answer your question. Wish I could go on one or both... go for me, the Spree is great and so is the diving!!

On previous trips, I had requested pistachio cake...pretty cut up fruits...or whatever strike my fancy and the boat went out of their way to accomodate me. Put down your dietary requirements before the trip so Frank and Melanie could take care of you. I really like the warm brownies topped with ice cream after the night dive. You won't be hungry on this boat.

Missed you at the dive show, Frank. Hope to see you and Zach in April on one of the Flower Garden trip or later for the Tortuga Coral Spawning trip in August.

Okay, things are starting to go my way, so SIGN ME UP and GIMME NITROX!! I'm flying into EYW (AA.com has some screaming cheap super saver airfares from/to DFW) on the 14th and will hang out at The Hogfish Bar until our 5:30 meeting if anybody is inclined to join me...

This'll also be the trip where I finish filling out my Spree Frequent Diver card.

Check and docs will be mailed shortly.

WOO HOO!!
I'm growing older but not up,
My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck.
Let those winds of time blow over my head,
I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead.

Question???

Anyone up for some local sightseeing of Key West before heading back for flights or the Keys Krawl???

I am looking at a 2:30 departure out of Key West which gives us plenty of time to 'rest' after a night on the town in Key West and see the local haunts, museums etc.

Or I can catch the same flight out as Hambergler!
