WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job Bubski!!

It is a tough job to quit smoking. Do not give in to the temptation, it will pass. The longer you go, the easier it gets. Not that it is easy! I have made it 10 years smoke free, those first few weeks were the hardest. I used the patch and Zyban (I don't think they are using this particular medication for smoking anymore), it still took 3 attempts. So even if you give in, keep trying. I will say that not giving in was the key though.

the first week is the hardest hang in there .. when the urge strikes do something to occupy your hands and it will pass in a few minutes ...... It's been almost 3 yrs since I touched a smoke and yup the urge still hits once in a while

Congrats and good luck it does get better

Well did you enjoy the dreams??? :birthday:

Ya... I was on an Aircraft Carrier in the middle of a small mexican village about 100 miles from the coast :birthday: ?

I dont want to replace one addiction with another, but the 1st step 21mg patch seems to be a magic bullet for me. My Doc also said that Chantex has been sucessful for other people trying to quit. Good point Marie, Ambian CR has some side affects and also can become addicting. I think after the seventh day I will not need this sleeping aid. I would break down my quiting experiance so far as..

30% patch.
40% mind over matter.
30% support from others.

WTG Bubski!!! I once knew a hypnotherapist who used to use this post-hypnotic suggestion to get his patients to quit smoking: With every breath I take, I'll come to love clean air so much that I'll never want to foul it with cigarettes again. It's a good, positive point and if you like, you can use it to remind yourself of the greater good of what you're doing. Congrats!

I like the name of your plan "Operation Odorless"....Keep reminding yourself WHY you want to quit. It will do wonders for those times you get the urge!! It will give you a great feeling of accomplishment and keep you on the right track. I have quit before for about 4 years....don't ask why I picked them up again. I need to get back to that place I was then so I can do it again for good!!!!

Great News... take it one day at a time..
Resist the urges.. I think you did wisely having things in place before you stated..
Can't wait to see you again.. and have you be "oderless".. :usflag:
