i think that would be a shame 101. Some of us, myself included, aren't well verses in comunicating in the medium of the written word. Not since my own inclusion into online forums have i seen enthusiasm like yours. I got into diving because i had your "zest", i got into these discussion forums for the same reason. I believe you should stick with it. I also feel we'd be less without the drive and passion that you and those like you bring to discussions.
I've quite alot more to say about how this determined attitude would also lend itself to finding that "perfect partner' but i'm having a flippin nightmare writing even this without getting cut off or even being able to edit the post! Where's my cursor. You never miss the little bugger till it's gone.....seriously...you try it!!!
Anyway, give it some time, finish the OW get a few dives under your belt and gimme a shout. I'll show you a nice tame Blue hole and we'll maby even get to scare some spring breakers down at Senor Frogs that evening!
Anyway, i'm looking back thru the post and seeing all the spelling mistakes that i not cant get back at, so i'll leave you with those thoughts.
Our humor is meant to be harmless. Laughing at yourself is also a skill that'll carry you far with the fairer sex.
P.S. you're on your own with them sqid tho!!
(P.P.S. AAAAaaaaarrrrggghh! i've just seen Verses...that's supposed to be versed! i'm definitley going now!)
Dantheengineer, you are a kind and generous soul and I send you much
diveguy101 - kick back, have a drink, hang out for a while, listen, and let this really great group of people on this site and on the trips show you how awesome they are.
Cheers!
Tammie

Tolerance to members who are not native to the US or to our language has always been key to this site and we make every effort to compensate for language barriers.
Who knows...I'm guessing diveguy101 is either Greek or Turkish since his mom is from Cypress. Dantheengineer is British and we have many members from all over the world who regularly participate in our site.
Hang in there guys...its a learning curve for all of us!

I'm redneck, or at least used to be, does that count?
YUP! English is still a second language for rednecks as well!

My mom is from Cyprus. I only lived their a cpl of years. I lived in the US from then. I don't speak Greek as though my mom said i did when I was little. My dad met my mom when he was a Marine. He was in the city called Nicosia. I lived in Germany since 1983 to 1989. My dad was stationed their. We lived in Ausgburg Southern Baveria. Visit is some time. Just don't dive their without a dry suit. too cold. The waters off of Cyprus are very beautiful and calm. My uncle their spears for octopus. As soon as I am certified diving I am going back their to dive. I heard and read that in the sunken ships treasure still resides but cannot be taken. That would be a great buck to make. Later. Do some research on Cyprus diving and the island. It's very interesting. The people are so nice and welcoming. The food is extremely good! The women on the beach sun bath nude so don't be shocked. That's pretty much most of Europe and the Middle East. It's very open their. I hope this helps. I have it much easier then most because I have family their. I can stay at their house and all expenses are paid for. I just have to pay for the dive boat cost and that's it. Even shore diving is spectacular. The snorkeling is great too. Some of the beaches offer shore diving with groups. Take care.
so the real question here is "Is English your native language and were you raised to be an American?"

I used to date a guy from Colorado. His heart was colder than the snow! Long distance relationships don't work! Stick to making good friends on here and on these trips and dating the local girls! Someday someone will come along!
See you on a trip! - D
Hmmmmmmm - I have to disagree I met my hubby on a SD trip......dated long distance for a year and 5 years later..........still together and married. He is my best friend - took me 40 years to find him. I certainly agree that you can make great friends on SD. I have made many on trips, still talk/email them and even dive with a group of them now and then. The friends I have made on here are like family to me!!! This is a great place to make life long friends!!!!
