FOOD & DRINK Update:

These have been requested in the private forum! Please take a minute to access it and give us your update so we have PLENTY of what YOU want to eat and drink!

VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE:

How much lead do you need? And if you are driving in will you be bringing your own lead? You need to dive the Cooper 'heavy' which is 6-8 more than what you normally dive in fresh water or 2-4 more than what you dive in salt water.

Lead is quite expensive to rent in Charleston but we are limited to how much lead we can bring from where we live so HAVE TO KNOW HOW MUCH EVERYONE NEEDS. Please remember to mark it up 2-4 lbs only from what you dive an alum 80 in salt water. (Or 6-8 from what you dive an alum 80 in fresh water)

If you do not have your license yet call the office in Charleston that you sent the paperwork too and they will email you a copy of your license. PLEASE DO THIS TODAY IF YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN YOUR PAPERWORK.

Hey gang we are in the home stretch now...

1. Does just ANY ONE NEED RENTAL GEAR?
2. Does everyone have a goodie bag to carry artifacts? If not the boat has some for sale that are great quality and inexpensive.
3. Does everyone have a screw driver with a lanyard around them? This is your river pick...if you do not have one we can get one from home depot or you can buy a brass one from the shop we use in Charleston for fills.

Hello all,

We are 3/4 of the way through our diving, and we have had one great dive after another. There have been some fabulous finds. Unfortunately, they have not been by me, so you will need to wait for the others to post their results. They deserve to be the ones to share their finds with everyone. I am sure Kamala will have pictures up in a day or three.

WOW! What a great group of TREASURE HUNTERS AND FINDERS!!!

This group kicked butt and took names when it came to BIG BIG BIG Teeth and ARTIFACTS!!!

And don't let Ed fool you...he found a fully intact early 1900's rum bottle or late 1800's bottle that I am still drooling for! He also found a TON of teeth many in jewelry quality!

Michael is our BIG finder with a HUGE 6in meg that is in very good condition along with OTHER finds I'll let him share as they were extremely NICE and RARE!!

Not to be outdone the Bahamas Boyz found 5+ to over 5.5 inch Megs along with old glass bottles from the 50's and possibly earlier along with LOTS of other great finds!!!

Richard had a great first day but had a family emergency he needed to attend to so started the pace but sadly missed the rest of the fun. And Randy had a last minute situation arise that prevented him from joining us

Ed also found the SMALLEST tooth being so small I can't believe he could even see it! Hey anyone can see the big ones...but not everyone can see the little ones and I do mean LITTLE...it had to be measured in millimeters it was so small!

And not be holding out but I did really well in the artifact department but not so great in the teeth department. I also tend to get lost a lot so even having the boat capt set my compass bearing for me helped but it did not always keep me on the right dive site. Most of the time I was lost in the mud or the sand but every once in awhile it paid off. I found 3 really awesome artifacts I will post pictures for shortly!

Got to get some work done first! Thanks for a great trip and YES we are even thinking of doing a trip next year as at least 2 or 3 people have already pre-signed up for it!

I am definitely in for a return next year if it doesnt conflict with other travel plans, most likely a trip to Africa. I am already wanting to be back there diving and looking. Ed

I am VERY tempted to run another trip in 2011 vs waiting to 2012...but it seems like its already full from the original group! LOL!

If you participated on this trip you need to file a report with the State of SC to aprise them of what you found. The report has 2 parts that must be sent to 2 different places. You can mail this report or file it online.


IF YOU PLAN TO DIVE THE COOPER AGAIN YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THIS REPORT QUARTERLY EVEN IF YOU DID NOT DIVE OR YOU WILL BE DENIED ANOTHER LICENSE IN THE FUTURE.
