Happiness is an 11 day trip of diving in Florida and visiting my family in Alabama. I'm really excited about the diving and looking forward to spending some time with my dad.

Happiness is being in town to see my nephew compete in a gynastics competition and watch him perform his first attempt at the iron cross in competition. He is the youngest student to be able to perform this move at his school. :cool1:

Happiness is remembering the hug I got from a pixie sized kindergartener yesterday that pinned one arm to my body it came at me so fast. :)

Yes, that unconditional and unrestrained love that the wee ones show is the best of happy to me. I have 7 nieces and nephews. Who think I am better than Santa Clause. There is always a contest to see who gets the first hug, so I run around the house until someone catches me. I am paying a stealth visit to the 6 mo, 4 y, 6 y, and 9 yr old family next month. Just going to walk in the door and let the chase/hugs begin.

I'm a former peds nurse. I have always liked the small people much better than the tall ones. They bring so much joy. I remember when my father died suddenly when I was 23. I would go into work a bit early, find a baby/child whose parent wasn't around, which in DC, was not hard, and just play with them. I found happy with them even then.

Heidi and Leslie those are great reminders of how fun and special kids are. Sadly my nephew is now 12 going on 21 and is no longer interested in hugs. :( My niece has realized the power of the word *no* so almost everything you ask you get a *no* first just for the shock value. Fortunately she still has not been given a phone so will bribe me with kisses and hugs so she can use mine for downloading and playing games. She even took a picture of us at her brother's gymnastic match and then made it my wall paper background on my phone... the days are very limited that she will still want to hug and kiss her aunt. So for now I am VERY THANKFUL!!! :cheerleader:

The teen years are tough all around. I have one who is nearly 17. The 14 year old is severely handicapped so not "teenish". He's just a beautiful presence on this earth. The rest are 12 and below and are darling still. Kids are the best medicine for what ails us, of this I am sure. My little brother and sis in law brought some of their brood to see me in the hospital once because they were scared that I was sick. They just curled up with me and we watched cartoons. I turned a bit of a corner the next day and gave them all credit for making Auntie Sharklover all better.

The tween stuff can be really cute. Like loading that picture on your phone. I just got a homemade thank you card from my 12 year old niece. We both want and covet a heavy bag for home and so it was all around the martial arts theme with characters wearing black belts and brown haired ponytails.

I don't have kids. But there seem to always be plenty around to borrow. And I can give them BACK too!

Happiness is hugging my golden retriever, Brody. My 15 y/o son is my greatest joy, but he's not into hugging mom so much these days!

Happiness abounds today...

1. I just had someone sign up for the Xcalak and Chinchorro trip which I REALLY need people on since we GUARANTEE our trips will run no matter how few people are on them!

2. And the guy said he'd talked to a number of people who had traveled with us and they had all given us great reviews! :wakawaka:

Pulled for 92 in a 70. No ticket. Good thing I was wearing a tshirt which clearly indicated that I had just finished participating in a charity/fundraising event. And I dropped into conversation that I had gotten up at 5 to do it. :wakawaka: I know, SLOW DOWN. Car just CRUISES.

Happiness is finding cauliflower .79 cents per head...all weighing over 2 lbs each! And 3# bag of carrots for .49 cents a bag and cabbage at .69 cents a head...all over 3#.

Now I have some freezing to do... I just bought $40 worth of veggies and they were ALL grown in the USA!!! :cheerleader:

We'll be set for awhile and while not organic like my little farmer neighbor...they will do the trick!

Yes, I was fortunate. I was on open road without much traffic, normally would have seen him before he saw me, but was tired and not scanning or paying attention to my speedometer. It's a smooth riding car, not necessarily a good thing.

Back in "the day", I once got *no* ticket for passing on the right, 75 in a 35, and expired tags. :oThe passing on the right was a stretch as the car on my left was turning going into a gas station and had nearly completed the turn and I had plenty of road. Getting out of that one was my best *work* to date.

I've had one chat with the SC HP as I travel through much of it's rural hinterlands and the traffic flow on I95 is around 80mph. Trick in SC is to never be the fastest one which I never am. I drive a LOT with my job. My car is a smooth cruising machine and I often don't realize how fast I am going. Cruise control isn't a great option as there is too much unsteady traffic on I 95.

I am a skillful and careful driver though the above may not support that statement. I always cede to aggressive drivers, I will pull over in a split minute if the conditions are unsafe, creating lots of following distance, and drive at whatever speed is safe for the conditions and traffic I am in. Promised Mom a 23 years ago that she would not have to bear another HP patrolman knocking on her door late at night.
