On the way back from Manado, I will need one night stay at some hotel in Singapore. I arrive at 5 pm local time and leave next morning, so I have some time to explore the city.
I think some people had done this before, so I hope someone can give me some suggestions as to where to stay, considering:
1. The convenience to get from/to the airport;
2. Hopefully is close to some interesting things to see in the evening;
3. Safe but not expensive

You'll want to stay in the transit hotel if you can...it is superb and you can't beat the price. I too will need to stay a night in Singapore so can look at that for you if you like.

Looks like this trip is shaping up!
The previous Lembeh trip was my first trip with SD and I see that my roomie Scott is returning to those waters for a second trip.
Scott, I hope you have a great trip. The creatures certainly didn't disappoint on the last trip: flamboyant cuttlefish to blue ringed octopi to disco clams....amazing dives.
The characters on the dive boat didn't disappoint either. Although I can't extend my vacation to return to Indonesia this year, I look forward to joining other Lembeh veterans Deb and Liz on the Maldives liveaboard.
Eco Divers is the way to go. The food and accommodations look superb.
I look forward to the reports from this trip.

Have fun in the Maldives. I have a new mask with 'cheaters' built in so this time I'll be able to focus my camera and see all the little critters I missed. I'm looking forward to it, and the 4 days of diving in Bali after.

Does anyone know how easy or how hard it is to get out of the airport in Singapore and do a city tour? (That's what I hope to do for the free evening I will have).
