Snowballs
1 c. butter
1/4 c. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Cream butter and powdered sugar together. Add flour, vanilla and pecans. Roll into balls and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Be careful with the balls. They are very delicate and break easily. Gently roll balls in powdered sugar while still warm.
Have a ball (or two) this holiday season. These balls truly do melt in your mouth.
Makes 3 dozen.

Oh my gosh...those are a family tradition for us as well...but we always called them "Mexican Wedding Cakes".... :anna:Since we're on the subject of BALLS, I'll share my favorite recipe.

I am sensing a "ball" fetish here. For what its worth, my first job was working in a produce warehouse loading trucks. We always called Kiwi fruit "gorilla balls". But I digress.

So, who's bringing the powdered sugar to Cozumel?

A quick but cool looking dish that blends hot and cold - sweet and tart and is great for impressing a date.
In advence make some thin crepes (thick crepes are called pancakes) and some whipped cream (sweeten to taste with powdered sugar - hold the balls)
Slice fresh strawberries and sautee with sugar until it thickens.
Roll whipped cream and strawberries in crepe
Chop a cup full of blackberries and heat them in sautee pan until releasing. add a splash of blackberry brandy. Flambe' and pour over crepes.
