Still waiting for an answer on what date we are getting the ferry at Sarong????  The 16th or the 18th????

We should not have to wait this long for clarification.  We need to plan air travel.

I believe the 18th is a typo and should be the 16th since the trip starts the 16th.

I think so too, but I don't want to book flights without knowing for certain.  Kamala said she was going to get back to us to confirm the date.  I think we should have heard something by now.

Hi, any update on flights?

Yes. Please see your email for international options from US to Bali. I have also booked the flights from Bali to Sarong and back. And we have changed them several times...we do not expect to change them again as our preferred carrier has resumed flights daily or nearly daily and we NOW have the higher luggage allowances etc.

 

Here are our local in country flights:

 

April 15 2023: Denpasar-Jakarta with Garuda GA417 |18:40-19:50|..connecting to..| Jakarta-Sorong with Garuda GA682 |00:30-06:35| (+1 arrive on Apr 16)
Including 20kg free baggage + additional 23kg for sport equipment

April 26 2023: Sorong-Jakarta with Garuda GA683 |08:15-10:10|..connecting to..| Jakarta-Denpasar with Garuda GA408 |11:40-14:45|
Including 20kg free baggage + additional 23kg for sport equipment

 

Options:

 

We can leave the hotel mega early on the 28th (3:30am) to make the ferry and ensure enough time to make the 8am flight OR some or all of us can transfer the night before to Sarong and do the flight from there vs the small island we are on. There is no price difference BUT I will have to let them know in Dec/Jan who is doing what.

Ferry is the 16th. I'm so sorry about the typo. Too many reschedules.

 

Please see the post above with the local flights we have booked. Please make sure that your int'l flights to Bali arrive 1-3 days BEFORE the in country flight and you do not depart for home until a minimum of 6 hrs after arriving in Bali to get bags from the domestic carrier and then transfer to the international terminal etc.

I am looking into flying from DFW to Bali on April 7th, as I want to spend a few extra days in Bali.

The return flight from Bali to DFW is Friday, April 28th leaving Bali at 16:05. This is through Cathay Pacific.

Is this a good time to depart Bali to head home.

If the only day to return via the class of service you want is the 28th then you will need 2 more nites hotel in Bali. We will arrive Bali on April 26 at 2:45pm. You should allow at least 6+ hrs to land, get off the domestic plane, get luggage, transfer to the international terminal, do enhanced security to go back to the US and get to gates etc.  Most flights are in the wee hours of the morning or on the 27th. If you want to depart the 28th you will stay in Bali the 26th and 27th. We can set it up for you at the group hotel.

 

I am changing the group hotel as I can verify that the level of service is where it should be for Americans and for the money. I will have details soon.

I checked flights returning from Bali to DFW on April 27th. There are 4 flights available for Premium Economy. Total time is 32 hours of which I get touted through JFK.

So, Ill fly out on the 28th. Theres probably a few activities that I can do.

Gayle (WindyMike) and I booked our international flights today. Getting EXCITED! 

 

We will fly from Miami and arrive in Bali on 4/11at 16:55. We would love to explore and see some sights in Bali until we leave for Sorong on 4/15.

 

 

When is everyone else getting to Bali? Will there be organized plans to tour around and stay places?

I am working on our group hotel so knowing your actual and anticipated dates of arrival is great!

 

I will also help with tour information as Bali is an incredibly vibrant and exciting city. I know Erica knows Bali well and must see places such as ubud etc.

 

Let me finish up the Bonaire trip and then I can work on this. Thank you!

I am flying to Bali from DFW on 4/7/23 @ 20:30 and arrive in Bali on 4/9/23 @ 15:00. So, that will give me a couple of days.

I leave Bali on 4/28/33 @ 16:05 and arrive back at DFW on 4/29/23 @ 6:08.

Im flying Cathay Pacific.

Which vaccines is everyone planning to get?

Let me check what is required. I expect that the covid vaccines will no longer be required by our trip. Other vaccines should be optional ie. malaria etc.
