OK, Im in.

GOALS: Spend at least an hour a day in my home gym using the treadmill, Bowflex, bike, weights, etc plus doing Yoga or exercise band video.

HOW: Today I will finish shoveling the snow so I have a walking path to the gym and dont have to snowshoe. I got about 3/4 of tbe path shoveled yesterday. Lots of snow this year and my gym is over a detached garage.

WHY: The virus took my job in April and I have been a little lethargic and depressed. But getting vaccinated and booking the Cozumel trip has cheered me up. I want to get ready for the trip, Lose some weight and feel like myself again.

So this morning, I pulled up a yoga video and got through it.  I have never had flexibility even at a young age.  I don't expect to lift my leg above my head with ease (my daughter can)... I just want improved flex.

YEA!!!  Yoga is GREAT FOR DIVING...it helps us learn better balance and that helps on a dive boat  or carrying heavy gear to prevent injuries! WOO! HOO!!!

ps Was it an online video? If so please share!

Ok did not get off to a great start...but I did start.

No walking either Friday or Saturday. (I did start standing again to do my work and I cleaned house so I got some exercise but not my stated objective of walking 15 mins each day. ) I WILL succeed today

I did get my wall push ups going.. 10 each day pushing really hard back for as much resistance as possible. When those are easy I will increase to 15 and so on.

I did get some easy stretching in both days and will progress to some yoga etc as I get myself limbered up.

There was no real let up with the rain yesterday, so my walking was limited to a trip to Sams club.  I doubled up on the exercise bike instead.  I did get a 3 mile walk in this morning, and will try again this afternoon if there is another break in the rain.  I thank each of you for being a part of this, as it does give me an extra push to keep up.  Ed

Well, there are so many Mermaids here! How fun!

My situation is a little unique. I suffer from chronic fatigue. They just started me on some new wakefulness medication on Saturday, to I decided to really test it!

Today is Day 1!

Im utilizing the Walk away the pounds videos by Leslie Sansone. I used to use them years ago and found them easy to follow. and they really work. She has various 30 minute videos, 1-3 miles, targeting different goals. All free on YouTube!

So my goals:
One video a day (she suggests three times a week)
Cut my portions down
Try to eat more fruits and vegetables, less microwaved food.
Overall I have a 15-20 pound weight loss goal, though Im going more for size of clothing than numbers.

And :welcome: back dear friend! This is such a nice way for us to stay connected and start to regain some of the lost health we've just come thru the last year or so! :respect:
