Both of my dive buddies are married.  They manage to take two dive trips a year with me and stay married.  I don't ask too many questions, but I also don't get invited to dinner very often. :-D

Hmmmmm .... diving or dinner conversation ........ diving or dinner conversation ..... let me think ..........

You have to think!? Where is the blooming water? That is my only question.
A person should be judged in this life not by the mistakes that they make nor by the number of them. Rather they are to be judged by their recovery from them.

I've tried going on vacation with non-divers, and the experience has been so-so. Usually they don't understand why I want to spend so much time diving. Or, they feel like we must be "joined at the hip" every minute. I'd rather mix it up - do some things together, and do our own things sometimes.

For example, I dated an avid golfer, who wanted nothing to do with the water (on or off the course!) so he would go golfing while I dove. Sometimes I joined him, but usually we'd do our own thing during the day, then meet up for dinner. But ideally.....I'd prefer to date someone who is as passionate about diving as I am.

A good solution is to take a few short vacations, instead of one long one. Diving is done on the diving vacations, and other stuff is done on the "dry" vacation.

I play golf also, or should I say golf plays me, and I seem to be as fond of the water on the course as I am in dive gear. My golf buddies saddled me with the name "aquamagnet" a while back... I'm not sure that's a compliment.

no...not a compliment on the golf course or many other places unless aqua is your codename for amorously qualified undeniable acrobats...or the like.

cyberstalker! actually...can't decide if it's me or you cause i seem to be chasing your new posts!

Laura...i liked the time apart during the day and coming together at night. it sucks going somewhere and being joined at the hip...although i can understand. sometimes i don't feel safe by myself, like when i was in kampala for example, and would actually appreciate a few buddies around.
