OK, I'm going to finally post in this thread.

First, scuba1231 was entirely within his rights to make the post that started this thread. He was expressing an opinion that while it apparently raised a few hackles was not an attack. He was expressing displeasure and disagreement over my manner of posting.

Second, I was genuinely touched by the responses so many of you made in my support. Thank you all. If I was reeking of arrogance prior to this thread, he probably would hate to see my posts after my head swelled reading your responses. I'll try to keep it under control, I have to thank Gar for helping me keep it in check. LOL!

Next, I was a little disappointed that so many of you seemed to let an obvious troll get to you. The best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them.

A few people asked scuba1231 to leave. While that's not something we like to see, I did notice that was started by notsonewbie and a few others piled on. After further research, it was discovered notsonewbie and scuba1231 are one and the same person. He was baiting us once again.

Later, scuba1231 added a highly objectional signature line. He was warned that that was a violation of SD policies and would not be permitted. About two hours later he made a personal attack against one of our members in this thread. He was then given a three day vacation from our site.

This morning, he registered under yet another screen name. It was also discovered he have several sock puppets, yet another violation of Single Divers policies. He will no longer be with us in any of his personas. I've also seen him trying to stir up trouble on other boards.

With his history of creating sock puppets, it wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't tried to create one with a similar name.

From all the post I read there is "1" fact we all agreed......... Aww, it's not all that bad. Trolls serve a useful purpose. They get the post count up, cause memberships to unite together behind a cause and they're just plain fun (like the punching bag hanging in the garage)
