I've just been reading several sites on the net about this, prompted by this thread.

Wanna know who I am?

Read this:

http://typelogic.com/infp.html

This was *astonishingly* accurate in its depiction of who I am... kinda gave me a shiver reading it, in fact.

(note also that there are links to other descriptors about the different Jungian or Myers-Briggs types at the top of the page...)
"They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep."

Marion, many of those questions can't be answered with a simple yes or no.

:banghead:

I find that when I take such tests my answers can vary depending on the situation I'm applying the question to. I usually just try to go with my first response.

I also agree. Many of them are a "sometimes".

Not much of a surprise, I was a judgemental extrovert! :banghead:

Here was my result - actually quite accurate! ENFJ

My first response to many of them wasn't yes or no. Some I could work out a yes or no, such as "As a rule, current preoccupations worry you more than your future plans" - since neither worry me, current preoccupations don't worry me more, so no. OTOH, "You are more interested in a general idea than in the details of its realization" is impossible to answer yes or no. It depends on the idea. Some ideas I want to work on details, others, the general concept is interesting, but I dopn't care about the details while still others I don't care about at all. "Often you prefer to read a book than go to a party" - what book? who will be at the party?

I believe the idea is to answer using your "Gut Feelings" and first reactions..

You can sit an analize these things to death but like Political Polls, although the question never covers it 100% it breaks down to 51-49 using gut -quick - feelings..

They are created for that purpose and are asked, on the big test anyway, with 600+ questions or whatever it is.. they are asked several times.. if you answer the same way all 3-4 times then it's probably a safe assumption that's the character traite...

Anyway, I've taken them at various times in life Teens, mid life and several years ago.... and always end up at the same designation... which makes me think there's something to it...

Here's one, not sure it's the same as before,

What if your "Gut Feelings" and first reactions aren't covered by the possible responses?

I believe you take the hypothetical and make your best call....

The basic instincts etc....

don't know the ins & Outs of it... but I believe the questions are intentionally vague and confusing to the decision making process...

I'm sure there's a site that explains it in more details... maybe even at the stite...
