The Feb 5-11 trip to the Bahamas thread in Upcoming SD Trips is still out to lunch. I'm half-way thinking about this one, but I at least need a few details, like how much, what, and is it full.

Any chance you can find the first details post in the scraps on the cutting-room floor? I realize a bunch of posts got lost in the blender, but it's getting close to the 'fish or cut bait' point on the Bahamas trip.

'Nother minor bug, for those of us using non-IE browsers. The redirect code isn't functioning on the test site, although it DID work on the old SD pages. I use Opera 6.x exclusively, except for rare sites that are so screwed up with MS non-HTML junk that I'm forced back to IE (briefly).

Every time I fix a hijacked computer, I put Firefox on it and nag the owner 'till they understand that IE is the single largest reason for all of the hijack problems, and they really need to stop using it whenever possible. A bunch of other crusty old farts like me are doing the same, and we're trying to wean the unwashed public off of the worst security hazard in the known universe. As more of us are saying NO to the 'Blue E', producing content that DOESN'T say 'best viewed with IE6' is gonna be a lot more important in the future.

Not a major inconvenience, as I rarely waited for the redirect in the first place ;-)

And yeah, I know it's a pain in the arse to support 5 or 6 different browsers, but it's gonna happen when folks get tired of porn popups and having their bank login sent to Poland. 4 of the 200 people I work with have had bank or CC info hijacked due to spyware, and they aren't laughing any longer.

I am still logged off every time I exit SD, despite having selected the appropriate option to remain logged on. Is this happening to everyone, or am I getting special treatment?

Once I have a chance, I will compile a list of the tips and tricks I've discovered about the new board -- one of which is the difference between the REPLY button and the QUOTE button. :P

In the meantime, in order to quote a post in your reply, hit the REPLY button seen at the bottom of every post -- not the ADD REPLY button seen at the bottom of every page.

Once you've done so, you'll see the entire quote from the corresponding post. (Including any other quotes that it may have contained.)

If you need to edit, just highlight and delete the parts you don't want.

Make sure you keep BOTH parts of the quote that appear in [ ]:

the quote name='finley' date='Jan 12 2006, 04:48 PM' post='124072', for example

and the /quote.

(I can't type these here within the [ ] because then it does show up as a quote box.)

and tell me why sometimes the smileys are in motion and sometimes not?

I've noticed this as well but I have no idea.

Peter I think this is happening to everybody, but the cure is to remove your old SD bookmark and then log-on as usual...then add SD to your bookmark/favorites again. at first I thought it was pretty cool to be just a Guest/Lurker when I logged on. but feeling cool turned to feeling Creepy after awhile :banghead:

Hope this Helps
