Also will be diving NITROX and need a tank. I've got plenty of weight and can bring the extra. I'm used to diving in 14mm, not 3mm

...Welcome aboard!
...my understanding is that, since you're diving NITROX, the tank is provided by the boat and included in the NITROX price.
('air' divers need to provide their own tanks on the boat, they might be available for rent on-site as I understand there's a dive shop very near the boats.)

the deposit is $200 whether you dive Nitrox or not, and Nitrox includes the tank rental

I am 6 weeks into recovering from hernia surgery. So I need to figure out if I'll be in diving shape by the time the trip starts. I'll talk to my brother about it to split fuel cost and making the 12 hour drive. I'll keep in touch. I have been wanting to do the Flower Gardens for awhile now. This might be the time to do it.This trip is coming up fast. Is there still openings?
