DUI Dog Days at the Oregon Coast Aquarium the 3rd weekend in August.

me too - that's why I am setting up some August SD dives!

This really sounds like a mutli-blender job!

and sorry 6gill, the 4th weekend is looking conflicting with many other events in our area. Reschedule your other August dives - come on and go diving with us! All the cool kids are doing it......
We'll see what pans out but these dives(research,boat,gas,gear) has been in the works for a bit now.

OK looking at the weekends, if we were to do some evening dives at Owens before dusk - let's do a quick snapshot current exchange for the area and note the times of dusk, which is when we should be done, packed, and rolling out of Owens Beach/Pt. Defiance Park:
Saturday, August 12 - sunset time is 7:26pm.
Saturday, August 19 - sunset time is 7:14pm.

Although I am still not sure we'll be able to plan the dives at Owens Beach for the time we would want to do the dives, I am thinking that August 19th, the 3rd weekend, is clearly looking like the better dive day in regards to tides/current. At this time I am good for all weekends. Will make sure when we actually pick one.
DG ~ I do need a new drysuit... was not planning on buying one big enough for two.
hmmmm will need one with longer legs and with more shoulder room.
not sure that is a good plan, but will leave it on the table for now.
