I just got off the phone after praying with the intercessors at my church and their parent ministry in Tulsa. Kenny is being covered by the most effective ministries in this nation.
They are the ones I go to when I've had critical life threatening issues with my family.
I will continue to keep him covered in prayer.
Feel free to call me no matter the hour, day or night.

hi everybody....you wonderful people.....
kenny was in surgery for 15 hrs yesterday....and that was JUST the surgery-it doesn't count the setup time and clean up time. he was a little ROCK! how lucky i was to have my friends taking care of him on both sides of the "ether screen"....my friends nada and suanne gave him EXCELLENT anesthesia and kept him completely stable the whole time; while my friend dan, the surgeon, meticulously picked away at this very friable tumor almost cell by cell. kenny hit the icu at about 3am, where my friend lynne, a peds intensive care specialist, sat at his bedside and took up the reins.
kenny is once again in a barbiturate coma to let his little brain rest. he has an external pressure bolt in his head so the docs can monitor what's going on inside. it makes him look like the tin man; but hey...on him, it looks good!
bad news is that the tumor grew A LOT in 3 weeks. and , because of some unexpected bleeding at the end of the case, dan wan't able to get it all out as he'd hoped. BUT: because it is such an aggressive tumor, it should respond very well to chemo, cuz the drugs target rapidly-growing cells. so kinda good news-bad news type o' thing.
anyway, wanted to let you know. i thank every one of you unbelievably wonderful, kind, loving people who has sent notes to both me and to my niece. i especially thank you for your continued prayers...my family has strong faith in god and know we can't do a damn thing about this without his help.
words cannot express my gratitude and love.

I am not always great about saying things in public. But I send my best wishes to you, Kenny, and family (as you already know).
God willing, Kenny will win this fight. He has a good start as far at that goes. May our higher power choose to guide the hands and actions of the people helping Kenny to fight this to do what needs to be done.

i spoke with my niece this morning, and the docs are weaning him gently out of his barbiturate coma. but he's acting like the 2 yr old he is, and his blood pressure skyrockets when they come down on the meds too fast! that's my lil butt for ya...a little wise guy even in a coma!
but...he's doing very well. his post-op mri was good...no additional bleeding. there is still some edema (swelling) around the operative site, but not enough to concern the surgeons.
hopefully today they will get his tube out. my niece is just waiting for the chance to hear his little voice again....me too. his chemo will start monday.
and, for his amusement, his weird auntie butt (me) plans on getting a buzz cut so he has some "bald" company! don't worry....there WILL be pictures!
thank you again to all of you who keep him in your prayres and visit his web site. mary (my niece) reads it every day. it's not just words when i say that it means SO MUCH to her for all the support.
thank you all from the bottom of my evil little heart
