Im interested but Im O.W. advance & nitrox w/ ~ 50 dives, but not Deep or Wreck cert. Would I need these for this trip?

AOW, Nitrox and at least 50 dives should make you comfortable doing these dives! Most are 100-120 ft with some being as shallow as 80-90 ft. Many have variable depths meaning they are multilevel so you can hang out shallow vs going to the sand. They all have a hard bottom aka the sand and some are pretty scuttled meaning they do not have any relief so the dive is pretty much a square profile.

The local nitrox mix is 30% since on any given day you do not know whether you will be diving on a really deep wreck or one of the not so deep wrecks. You do not need a wreck cert as there is no penetration unless you are certified and really comfortable doing so. This will be decided based upon the diver's skills and knowledge of the diving area. For most of us...myself included...you have no need to penetrate the wrecks and will have an amazing time diving these relics of time!

It is now confirmed...July 2-6th we will be diving the WARM CLEAR WATERS OF NC!!! Save the dates...and plan to join us for fireworks on history!

Hello! Anyone up for doing some wreck and sharkdiving? We are looking at July 4th weekend if possible but at least sometime in the summer if not. (The season is very short for NC anyway so best months for least number of blowouts and best vis and warmest water is July and Aug.)

You can dive on history...the U-352, the Schurz, the Pappoose, and more. These wrecks are victims of WWI or WWII and have become artificial reefs of a magnificent magnitude. See how close these vessels of war were to US soil...feel the devestation they wrecked on the US and Allied armies...and see what wonders remain including artifacts, awesome marine life and that special tingle knowing you are witnessing HISTORY!

Oh yeah...and the ATLANTIC SAND TIGER SHARKS!!! They are docile but will give you EVERY SHARK THRILL you can imagine!

The trip is fairly reasonable....US operators are more expensive than foreign based operators and the season is only a few months...but the price and experience is WORTH IT!!!

So who's up for this amazing trip? It will include at least 3 days of 2 LONG tank dives, hotel, breakfast and lunch daily, PLUS a great cookout as well as xfers from the RDU airport if flying in. Air tanks are included but you can upgrade to nitrox or 100's. Price will be approx $650 or so for Drive in's and $750 or so for Fly Ins based upon this year's pricing. Prices subject to change but should not vary by more than $50 or so.

Gary aka dock its great to see you! We'll get you on the interested list and the sign up should be right after DEMA as I will only get some of the trips posted before DEMA. However the dates are hard and firm so you can start planning.

Arrive no later than 3pm at RDU and depart no earlier than 5pm from RDU to return home.

But all of this will be in the trip posting!

UPDATE:

This trip will be posted within a week. I am averaging about 2 trips a day now that I'm back in the office until December!

Once the trip is open we'll send an email/pm out to everyone letting them know the trip is open for booking. We will take the entire boat so it will ONLY be SingleDivers.com members!!!

It will be 3 days of diving and it will include festivities for the 4th of July. PLUS a fantastic cookout most likely Saturday night for those lucky enough to join us!

Our premiers get a 7 day advance booking window and some trips have filled out before they have opened up to the standard members!
