No flights for our team, all flights booked.
Also, since storm headed in a Northernly direction decided to not risk the liability and Geogia is out.
So Marvel and I have been grounded.
We will leave our offices as of noon tomorrow so we can secure our homes and begin to head for higher ground.
It's due to come in sometime Saturday about 2PM unless it turns.

Thanks Walter, hadn't noticed that. They are giving us an update every half hour telling us it hasn't changed path and we get the bullesye again. Good news is it has slowed down, so it can pick up some more steam. The eye was 70 miles north of Grand Caicos (thats the good side) and they had sustained 70 mph winds. Petite little thing that she is.Current prediction is landfall in the Palm Beach to Melbourne areas and crossing the state diagonally through the Orlando area.
Frances is going to Walt Disney World!

Since I arrive in Florida next Wed., I will be able to learn of any damage in the Upper Keys area before I drive out there with dive buddy Stephanie. Hopefully there will be minimal damage in the area!
Be safe!

Thanks for the invitation. Driving to Virginia is possible now. Folks on the east coast should seriously consider your offer. If they do, they shouldn't wait, but should leave home now. If worse comes to worse, on the road is one of the worst places to be. No one should be on the road during the storm. Cars can be clow off roads and things fall on the road in front of you. That's the reason Kamala, Vanessa & I stayed in Raleigh for two nights. We want to make sure Charley was well past before we ventured out.
From the National Hurricane Center:
A HURRICANE WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR THE FLORIDA EAST COAST FROM CRAIG KEY NORTHWARD TO FLAGLER BEACH...INCLUDING LAKE OKEECHOBEE. A HURRICANE WATCH MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...GENERALLY WITHIN 36 HOURS. HURRICANE WARNINGS WILL LIKELY BE ISSUED FOR PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA LATER THIS MORNING.
A TROPICAL STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE MIDDLE FLORIDA KEYS
FROM SOUTH OF CRAIG KEY SOUTHWARD TO THE SEVEN MILE BRIDGE...
INCLUDING FLORIDA BAY.
FRANCES REMAINS A CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON
HURRICANE SCALE. REPORTS FROM AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 145 MPH...
Folks, that means this it an extremely powerful storm. It's about as strong as Hugo back in '89. Hugo destroyed portions of SC.
HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 80 MILES...130 KM...
FROM THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP
TO 185 MILES...295 KM.
THis hurricane is also larger than normal. It's much bigger than Andrew.
Don't take it lightly, let's be safe.
Walter
