I tried the mystery dish at an expensive restaurant in Scottsdale once on vacation....well it ended up being over cooked TUNA. Not even Ahi, my Fav, my Mom said...I knew you'd hate it. My point is...you have to really trust someone that is throwing you a mystery trip. It's probably only something a significant other can pull off. Maybe I'll change my mind once I meet you all. The wait is killing me.

Hey gang...just so you know..I'll let everyone know where we are going in Nov and WHEN this week. I've had so many phone/computer issues that it has severely limited my efforts to tie up all the loose ends.

And total MYSTERY trip would be kinda fun... boy you all would REALLY have to be trusting! LOL!

Hi All,

I'm a newbie here... Apologies if this is the wrong place to be posting this, but since I'm thinking about doing a trip with you guys and November would be a good time... I just went for it.

I'm a beginner. Got certified in the early 90s... and have been on something like 6 or 7 dives - always at some sort of resort destination with close supervision for a 1-day dive. I'd like to start diving more, and I'm a single (yes, i'm aware that hookups are only to tanks).

So what I'd love to find is a group of like-minded folks, where I can find some friendly tutoring and a watchful eye to make sure I'm safe. Is this a situation that I might find with singledivers? Will I be assigned a buddy on a trip who has a little patience to dive with a relative beginner?

Looking forward to the big reveal as to where this trip will be

We typically match buddies based upon skill level, desire to dive with newer divers, air consumption etc. And we offer a very unique program called our "Rent-A-Buddy" program where you hire a dive professional to be your buddy and mentor you and help you build your skills and confidence is a VERY VERY short period of time. November may not work out...I've been waiting for some awesome deals and I think I have found one for everyone BUT the dates may not work out for me to join you all. So we have a couple of choices...we can let you all go together as an informal group or just let you join our Halloween trip which ends the 2nd of Nov.

I will know early next week if I can swing a trip in Nov as I have to work around the Halloween trip that ends the 2nd so messes up that weekend and I have our industry tradeshow that ends the 9th so messes up that weekend. That basically leaves me the 16-23 as the only option I can do OR Thanksgiving. I may have to have some outpatient surgery during the Thanksgiving holiday so that is why I have languished in finalizing plans for Nov.

I am hoping to hear from my doctor by Tuesday.

A decision needs to be made on this trip. I looked up some airfare prices for CB and Cozumel. (from Houston) Thanksgiving week is more expensive to the Caymans, and a little less to Cozumel. I am in for either of these two weeks.

IAH to CYB -

11/23 - 11/30 $874.29

Several wanted Thanksgiving but as you say...air may be too high to Cayman Brac.

I'm checking availability for Cozy so we know if that's an option and what pricing it will be.
