ANILAO PHILIPPINES, APRIL 14-21, 2018

MNLfrogfish

Anilao is known among divers for its macro life and muck diving.  (Muck does not mean poor vis but it does usually mean a sandy bottom with little traditional reef structure which means the critters are out in the open.) There are huge areas of coral reef and a range of Indo-Pacific critters in the local waters.  Most of the dive sites are in the southern area.  Divers can find shrimp, crabs, nudibranchs, small squid and cuttlefish, as well as frogfish, pipefish and seahorses.  Rhinopias and hairy frogfish, blue-ringed octopus and bobbit worms also await.

  • Diving & Itinerary

    DIVING

Dive conditions have been sensational so far this season. Calm flats seas, warm air and blue skies have made the dive season amazing. The critters have been out too, with Rhinopia sightings, Blue ring octopus, loads of frogfish and of course, Nudibranchs. Please visit our photo gallery to see some of our guests photos Anilao has been dubbed the best critter and macro site in the Philippines, but did you know that there are also some spectacular reef systems here too. That’s right, sites like Kirby’s rock and Beatrice are second to none for marine life and reef fish. Twin rocks has also been supercharged with jacks, turtles, snappers, sweet lips and more.

The dive boats go out in the morning for two dives. After lunch a single-tank afternoon dive is offered, with the option of a night dive. Most of the diving is to 70 feet or less, and dive times of 70-minutes or more per dive are common.

All dives are conducted as guided dives at Crystal Blue and our sought after guides are the best in Anilao. Professionally trained to find critters, assist photographers and coordinate dive sites throughout the day and are trained to current PADI standards.

As part of your dive package you'll enjoy the assistance and amazing local knowledge of our guides. Our guest to guide ratios range from private guide hire to a maximum or four divers per boat. Keeping the lower ratios offers our guest a lot more flexibility on dive sites and bottom times.

Our well-trained dive crew will handle your tanks and gear efficiently and are especially conscientious when handling underwater cameras and gear.

  • Experience Required / Training & Workshops

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Diving in Anilao offers something for not only all skill sets but also all types of divers including photographers, tech divers and zen divers. While Anilao is known mostly for muck dives, meaning you dive approx 60+ feet along a sandy bottom looking for (or waiting for the dive master to find) amazing critters, there are also sites that experience strong currents. It's important to have some experience under your belt so you can be comfortable with the varied diving.

Please email kamala@singlerdivers.com if you have other questions about your ability to safely and easily enjoy the amazing diving of Anilao. Kamala

    TRAINING & WORKSHOPS

There are no SingleDivers.com training activities nor workshops currently planned for this trip.  We are happy to check with the resort about doing training during your trip and what they would charge. Often they will give us a better price so feel free to ask us to assist.  If you would like us to help arrange additional training for you, simple click in the SUPPORT tab in the main menu and then click on SUBMIT HELP TICKET and click on TRIP ADMINISTRATION and request assistance.

We will also check to see if any of our trip participants are instructors who would like to teach on the trip and let you know.  We are glad you are interested in continuing your dive education and we hope we can help you continue your goal of ongoing training.

  • Insurance, Documentation, and T&C's

    INSURANCE

DIVE Insurance is required! DIVE insurance is VERY inexpensive. Even if you have insurance that you think covers DIVING ACCIDENTS and air lifts…it is CHEAP (approx $100) to get a supplemental policy to ensure you are covered for an entire year of diving.

    We recommend:

Dive Assure: for either a 'one time' policy OR an annual policy for BOTH Dive & Trip Insurance providing PRIMARY COVERAGE with excellent rates and coverage! Please reference SingleDivers.com via the drop-down menu under GLOBAL PARTNERS. (If you can not find the drop down, do not reference anyone and email info@singledivers.com your policy info and we will do it for you via our Dive Assure company representative.)

Diver's Alert Network: Please use our reference number when ordering: ID1603080   (This only works if you are a new first time DAN member.)

Trip Insurance is STRONGLY SUGGESTED and/or required (depending on the trip)!  TRIP insurance is VERY inexpensive. Even if you have insurance that you think covers your trip…it is CHEAP (approx $100-$200) to get a supplemental policy to ensure you are covered for your investment in your dive trip. If you opt to not get trip insurance you are responsible for all losses related to your trip including not going for any reason.

    We recommend:

Dive Assure: for either a 'one time' policy OR an annual policy for BOTH Dive & Trip Insurance with excellent rates and coverage! Please reference SingleDivers.com via the drop-down menu under GLOBAL PARTNERS. (If you can not find the drop down, do not reference anyone and email info@singledivers.com your policy info and we will do it for you via our Dive Assure company representative.)

    DOCUMENTATION

All SingleDivers.com trips require necessary documentation to facilitate booking your trip and/or making it a better experience for you.  Once you complete your documents online our automated system will take the information from your last trip with us and fill out your new trip forms for you. You then add any missing information and/or change anything that is no longer current. You will find the forms you need to complete under MY TRIPS which you will find under TRIPS in the main menu across the top of the site. Since each trip requires a unique set of docs, please choose the correct trip from your "My Trips" drop down and then complete the forms required for that trip. Some trips will also ask you to complete the resort or liveaboard's forms as well.

The AIR AUTHORIZATION FORM is only required when you are having SingleDivers.com book air for you but this includes air that is part of the trip pkg price.

Not all of our forms are online as they are either infrequently used or being phased out. If you need a form that is not in our online directory, simply click on SUPPORT on the main menu and then click on SUBMIT HELP TICKET and choose TRIP ADMINISTRATION and ask for the form you need.

However we can never anticipate every question you may have so we have no problems answering anything we did not include or anything you do not fully understand. In fact we were founded using "Forums" which easily facilitates Q&A and basically talking to each other in an ongoing electronic format. Today we utilize several 'communications mechanism's which still include our forums called the "Surface Interval" but also our Help Ticket System, Knowledge Base and FAQ.

    HOW TO ASK A QUESTION

You can ask questions about our trips in two easy ways.

    1. Use our Surface Interval FORUMS to ask questions in the specific trip topic/thread. You can always find this by clicking on the turquoise button that says FORUM THREAD found at the top and bottom of each trip's details.
    2. You can use our Help Ticket System to ask a question by clicking on the SUPPORT tab in the main menu and then clicking on SUBMIT HELP TICKET and then clicking on TRIP ADMINISTRATION.  We will reply to your question as soon as we can and post the replies in the TRIP THREAD in our Forums. We will also move appropriate questions to our FAQ's and Knowledge Bases.

    ONGOING UPDATES

We use several tools to keep EVERYONE on a trip updated. They are ALL vitally important for you to monitor and stay apprised of. They are as follows:

    1. The "Welcome to the Trip" PM (private message via our FORUMS) which is sent to as soon as you sign up for the trip. You can not receive these unless you are a Premier member or above. As soon as you either pay or show interest in the trip thread/topic we'll send you this PM. It has helpful info about signing up for the trip and will be used THROUGHOUT the pre-trip process to keep you updated on critical things regarding your trip with us.
    2. The Trip Topic in our FORUMS (the first post has the trip details in it) and subsequent posts will contain ongoing questions and updates. We also start separate topics for important trip related matters. Please click on the FORUM THREAD  button to be taken to the Trip Discussion Thread/Topic for this particular trip. PLEASE monitor these for IMPORTANT UPDATES that affect your trip.
    3. The FAQ, KNOWLEDGE BASE & HELP TICKET SYSTEM. When in the main site you'll always be able to click on the SUPPORT tab on the main menu and find the Help Ticket System, Knowledge Base, Glossary and FAQ. Every time someone ask a question we we will file it in the appropriate TRIP KNOWLEDGE BASE and/or FAQ as well as posting it on in the FORUMS Trip Thread. This will allow you to find the information you need in one of several places making it easier for you to get the information you need and ask the questions you want.
