OK, Jennifer ... you have to get the new Powerman 5000 CD that came out today. It is ROCKIN'! Also, we get brand new Mushroomhead on September 19th.
http://www.mushroomh...com/ecard1.html

Ok. I admit it. You got me on those two. Who the heck are they??

http://www.powerman5000.com/ will give you a little taste of the PM5K. Great music! The singer is Rob Zombie's little brother.

http://www.mushroomhead.com/ unfortunately doesn't have any clips or downloads, but you can find them out on the net somewhere. You can get a sample of their cool DVD at http://www.8infinite...dvdpreview.html

Also check out Soil. http://www.soil-music.com/ (be sure to click the play button to hear the sample).

My favorite music for a while now is Killswitch Engage. You can download a couple of their tunes at:
http://www.killswitc...e.com/main.aspx
They just did a cool cover or Dio's Holy Diver that you can get here:

You are my new music god! Thanks for all the cool links. Two songs that have me "ga-ga" right now are Hinder's "Lips of An Angel" and StoneSour's (I think) "Invincible". Both make me think of people from my past. :thankyou:

TexasStarfish

I agree on Evanescence. Her voice is beautifully eerie. "My Immortal" makes me cry everytime I hear it. I think an earlier part of this thread mentioned it already, but another voice that is ethereal is Sarah MacLachlan (spell?). Sends shivers down my spine. "In the Arms of The Angel" Oh man, two-box-kleenex!

Dave Mathews could sing like nails down a chalkboard and I wouldn't care. He's hot! :teeth:
OH WHATEVER!!

Correction Jamie. I boo-boo'd. "Invincible" by Crossfade. StoneSour is "Through the Glass". Whew, caught it before you did and schooled me. :P

Well, back on topic, I've found a new artist, Tristan Prettyman, who I am really enjoying these days. It's also proven somewhat effective in the last few weeks...

Wow... I really must be stuck in the 60's! I haven't heard of, much less heard the music of, any of these.

Music that is lighted hearted and fairly fast paced gets me in a flirty mood and it is hard telling where that leads. I like to listen to fallout boy, animals by nickelback is definately cool, but right now I find myself back to listening to the pixies. Believe it or not.
I'mA riddle so strong, you can't break me.

Dr. Bill: don't worry, I listen to alot fo that old stuff too. I have my own separate collection of 70's and 80's stuff. More familiar to you might be: Journey, Def Leopard, Van Halen, Lynrd Skynrd, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, etc. These greats paved the way for thos e"unheard of" bands you mentioned. Some of tehm will be in the history books too.

6Gill: I saw Theory of A Deadman in April at an all-day rock show. They were awesome! The other two I'll have to loook out for. This Sunday is Ozzfest here in SoFla. Maybe some of the above will be there!

Colby: Hope all goes in your favor with the new "friend" :D

Mechanical31: PIXIES RULE!!! :wakawaka: :tears:

Hey Jennifer!
I thought of a couple of other bands that I think you'd really enjoy.

I've been a fan of Social Distortion for probably 20 years now, and they are one of the consistently good live shows I've ever seen. They were punks back in the day, and now it's just good guitar-chord fun. Try their live CD (I was at that show at the Roxy), and "White Light, White Heat, White Trash" but the new one's great, too "Sex, Love, and Rock and Roll."
http://www.socialdistortion.com/

Another great live band is the Young Dubliners. Celtic rock, although they've been steadily moving away from the "celtic" and more towards the "rock." I'd recommend starting with the CD "Red" and see what you think.
http://www.youngdubliners.com/

If you like the Donnas, you might also like Slunt (catchy name, huh?). I saw them as the opening band for Marilyn Manson last year and really liked them.

Also, just found out that the opening slot for Tool on this tour is Isis! Very cool prog-metal; think of a cross between Tool and Ministry and Deftones. Listen to 'em here:

Rock on!

Snow Patrol's new single "Chasing Cars" moves me. The link takes you to the band's website which plays a portion of the song when the page loads. It was used in the season finale of Grey's Anatomy this past year.

That's one of my girlfirend's favourite songs at this moment in time.
